It’s been a long time since I kept a blog. After a relatively successful attempt three or four years ago, I gave up. I know I shouldn’t have. Blogging is a good habit to keep especially for an aspiring journalist. So I’m starting again from scratch before I embark on my next grand adventure. This blog will, like most blogs, be a place to share my thoughts and experiences as frequently as I can manage.
I recently finished my undergraduate degree at the University of Maryland and rather than immediately pursue a career in my field of study – Journalism – I’ve decided to change course for an indeterminate length of time and travel to Thailand in order to teach English as a second language. Although I’ve been fortunate to have a fairly adventurous life until this point, I am excited for the new and different experiences to come. So excited that I wish to share them with whoever wishes to follow along in my adventures.
A little about my upcoming trip
Because I’m always one to milk every little bit of an opportunity, I’ve decided to make a couple of stops on my way to Thailand. First, I will be flying to Beirut, Lebanon and spending 8 nights there. From there I will fly to Dubai, UAE where I will spend 2 nights. And finally I will fly to Bangkok where I will quickly ride to Hua Hin to begin my orientation and training for the teaching program. After the initial training period I will be placed in the city or town where I will spend the next year or so teaching.
In this blog I hope to share new and exciting experiences and photos I take while abroad. I encourage readers to comment on my posts with feedback and suggestions concerning my writing and the photos I post.
